Ugana Mahadev is at Bhavani village near Pandaul in Madhubani. The shrine is associated with Shiva and the poet Vidyapati. The district account retells the story of Shiva serving Vidyapati in the guise of Ugana. It is presented here as a local devotional narrative, rather than a dated event.
