HOW TO USE THIS PAGE
Three things to check.
- When? A 2011 Census count and a 2026 population projection describe different kinds of evidence.
- Who or what? A literacy percentage depends on the population and test used. Bank credit can be reported by place of sanction or utilisation.
- Where? A district figure and the outline used to map it may refer to different boundary dates.
01 / PEOPLE
Population and literacy
Compare the 2011 Census count with the UNFPA projection for 1 March 2026. Read the 2011 district literacy definition and remember that a survey’s reading test is a different measure.
Source periods: Census 2011; UNFPA 2021 and 2026; Government of India 2019 projection report.
02 / ECONOMY
Income, banking and crops
Distinguish district income at current prices from household earnings, and crop production from yield. The banking guide calculates a credit–deposit ratio from a single dated series and explains its limits.
Source periods: 2023–24 income, 2024–25 crops and scheduled commercial banks at each March end.
03 / LAND AND CULTURE
Rivers, products and traditions
Follow a mapped river, check the date on a historical flood source, or explore the district product register. A designated product is not a count of producers or factories.
The register uses the 2024 revised ODOP list; river lines and district outlines use different source geographies.
